Day 4 End of the Month

I used to dread the end of the month. Rushing hoping to pack in as many deals as possible when it really would be better if the people waited until the weekend. Arguing that if they had their key and signed their lease then they have moved in, even if the lease doesn't start until the first. All while tactfully eluding the fact that I needed to get the bigger commission that came from the early move in because of how my company structured its compensation with its agents. Didn't cost anybody anything except me for a move in to roll over until the next month. I approached the coming end of this month with such a different attitude because I don't have that false sense of doom when the clock strikes October at midnight tonight.

All tha beijng said I do have a busy day crammed with meetings, marketing and showings. Oh and the boys got fed along the way. Plus I got to take Sandy out on a real date night date. Fun times.

Day 3: Wow that was along day

Day started like any other day. Got up put on some comfy clothes and started posting ads. Also tried to tweek my website, www.bgrentsaz.com and I set up my fax machine system. Then my wife, whom I love, ad who loves me back and I got into a discussion about getting dressed up. Iexplained tat I didn't need a dress shirt and slacks to post ads and wash dishes. She really didn't like that response. We both went down hill from there. And she took a nap and I meet a prospect to show a house with Chloe.

Chloe is a great sales tool. What better way to show confidence in a house and neighborhood than letting my cutie daughter run thru out? The prospect noticed how cute she was and how she liked to play on the carpet and slide on the tile. Chloe climbed up the pantry, and the prospect saw how big it was. She filled out her application there on the spot.

Feeling better, I switched gears and went to Sams for salad then Taste of Italy t pick up lunch for the boys. Scott Lung was there to help serve, I got to talk to Tyler's English teacher. Day was looking up then Sandy calls to see where I'm at. A parent at the elementary school had a dead battery and could I come to help. Of course I came over, the car was fried an since she was using pliers to start the car in the first place I told her perhaps its not your battery. I still had to get concessions stuff back at Sams. So I dropped the lady and her daughteroff at my place. Took Noah and Justin and off to Sams we went. In and out stopping only for samples, potty, drinks and potty again we made it to the field an hour before kick off.  or a half hour late, but we got set up, food cooked, even had some parents show up to help. Thank you to Andrea, Armando, Melissa, Denise, Elizabeth, Rita, and Kathy. Game was boring. 40-14 and it wasn't that close at all. After the game we got everything cleaned up and packed back then picked up pizza for the family and came home. Finally went to bed just after midnight. Woke up early this morning and didn't have time to write until now!

Good news today is Friday and the game is away. Date night for me an Sandy. Details about todays events to be posted later!

Day 2, Game Day, Good Day

So today was a Wednesday, Which means Freshmen Football for DEHS. Fun times for my family because it was away so we got to watch without having to do concessions. Went to the Dr.'s office this morning early to get my blood drawn. Chloe sat on my lap and just watched and giggled as the nurse struggled to get the vials switched. Then it was off to Safeway, for essentials, Milk and Sandy needs CHOCOLATE. Finally on to Noahs class to make sure he has something for show and tell, Pokemon Toy named Fred. Got done with all that by 9:30 and got to posting ads. Then Had a girl for a 3 bedroom house to show, hopefully she will work out.

High School got out early so I had to run lunch for the team early as well. Elizabeth and Melissa were a big help as well as Sandy, Justin and Noah. It's really evident which boys are taught to do well by their parents and which ones are left to fend on their own. After picking up then serving and cleaning up the meal went home to post more ads and check emails then we got to watch Tyler blow out Cold Water, 39-20! Good game, not great, too many people hurt, too many miscues and penalties, too many missed chances. Feels like that was my work day too though. Need to get out there more tomorrow and be willing to but my family time in the back burner for a minute. Oh well tomorrow is another day. By the way, Tyler is a starting left tackle, works his little butt off and his team is 5-0 now! WOW Go Scorpions!

House looks amazing, Wife is beautiful, Kids and safe and healthy. All in all a good day. just not great!

Trying Something New

This has been a Month of growth and change. Had a birthday on the 9th, Thank you for the well wishes and cards. Severed myself from the company that I had worked for almost 8 years total ( and really that was maybe a year too long). So I thought why not try to keep a blog that helps to track my progress for at least 30 days. So at least every night I am going to post about the days events and try to record the ups and downs of raising 6 kids in my home, operating 2 businesses, being the President of the Desert Edge High School Football Booster Club, and above all else trying to be the best Husband I can be. Not an easy task but I'm sure in the Pre-Existance I signed up for the trials in my life with glee. So here it goes.

Today Sandy and I got to sleep in until 6:40am, then I got the kids up and off to school. After that I went to the Dr.'s office for a check up and found out I'm still overweight but it is getting better. Ya think? When I got home, Chloe, our beautiful 18 month old, Sandy and I went to the beauty supply store in Phoenix. Got home just in time to get Chloe dressed, and then I got to Posting ads. Love that part of my day. Then after that I put a sign up on my newest listing a great House in Goodyear, $895 per month, 2 weeks Free rent if you move in by Saturday, October 1st. I showed it already today and it is a really clean and well designed 3/2 unit. All appliances included, even Washer and Dryer. When I got back I put Chloe down for a nap. she loves to help me with my business deals, but they wear her out. While she was sleeping Sandy and I decided to REALLY CHALLENGE OURSELVES!

How  you ask, NO TV! Because we both just need to do a better job of focusing on what matters, Family, Business, Church, Not Housewives and Crime Dramas! So we made a simple wager and when Chloe was asleep, guess what, we cleaned instead of sitting in front of the boob tube! Not deep cleaning but it was really nice to have a surface that was picked up. then I folded laundry and we decided to go out for $0.59 tacos for lunch. I Heart Deals! After lunch Sandy was ready for a nap, So She did that and I posted more Ads. Updated a lease for a friend, and did not watch TV. At 2 I picked up Noah from School, As well as the 2 neighbor kids. they came over so their dad could sleep also. I made Nachos and let them play superheros
Not from today but you get the idea
in the back room with out any TV. Awesome too see and hear them use their imaginations. Before too long it was time for Justin to get home and then the home work started, then the neighbors went home at 4ish and Sandy had another appt over. I picked up Tyler from Football practice and dropped off Derek at his house on the way home. He is a nice kid, and a really good football player. After which I took the little boys to Lorin's game, she won and played fairly well. It's fun to see her progress. Sandy got there after her Appointment and we took the kids to Taco Bell for more $0.59 tacos. really fed the whole family for $13, great deal.

So that was my Tuesday, No TV but My house is Cleaner, my kids are fed, and I get to go to bed early with my wife. New isn't always better, But today was new, and it was a much better day!
